摘要：An improved process for the preparation of optionally substituted 2,3-indolinediones which are useful as intermediates in the preparation of compounds havingpharmacological activity which comprises reacting a 3,1- benzoxazine with an alkali oralkaline earth metal cyanide or a tetra-(C. sub.1-4) alkylammonium cyanide to obtain a 2-imino- 3-indolinone, which is then subjected to hydrolysis.
