摘要：An optical transmitter and receiver in which a light-emitting diode (15) is
inserted as light transmitter in an opening (12) of a light receiver (13) for which aphotodiode or a phototransistor is used. An optical fibre (1) for bidirectional dataexchange terminates in said opening (12). In the transmitting phase of the light-emittingdiode (15), the light receiver (13) operates as a monitor, whereas if light is emitted fromthe end (2) of the optical fibre (1), the light- emitting diode (15) does not emit light andonly the light receiver (13) is in the receiving mode.
