Should College Dormitories Have the Internet?

With the development of technology and society, the Internet plays an increasingly important role in our daily life. People are relying more on the Internet at work, so do college students. And many colleges have already offered their students’ access to the Internet in their dormitories, which brings convenience to the study of students, but also generates problems.

On the one hand, it is doubtless that if college dormitories have the Internet, students will have more access to knowledge. What’s more, with the Internet, students can keep a keen contact with the outside world and broaden their horizon, so that they would not become a nerd.

On the other hand, it is sure that nothing in this world is absolutely positive. With the Internet installed in dormitories, there would be negative influences. The first and worst is that it will affect the study of students. It is not fresh news that there are students addicted to the Internet, which results in poor performance at schools. In my opinion, college dormitories should have the Internet, because in general, there are more positive influences than negative ones, and we should not abandon anything helpful to our students just for its minor shortcoming.

Although it is true that nuclear weapons pose the greatest threat to human life, the use of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes also carries some positive meanings. Nuclear power stations provide an important source of cheap power for many industrialized nations and some developing countries. In addition,

nuclear radiation treatment can be used in medical science. In my opinion, nuclear technology certainly has positive uses and is nonetheless dangerous, and it would have been better if it had never been used to create nuclear weapons. If life on Earth is to continue, all

When stealing even becomes the main task to many game players, people begin to show their concerns about this special phenomenon. For some people, stealing is completely harmless in the virtual world, because virtual world is free from the laws and moral codes of the real world. Moreover, stealing as a unique aspect of the game can make it more attractive and interesting, so game players can enjoy more fun and therefore relax themselves. However, others take opposite view and say that stealing should also be banned in the virtual world. These people believe the big influence of the cyber world, especially the online games. Every year lots of young people are addicted to these games, for it is not easy for them to tell the difference between the virtual world and the real one, so the rules and regulations are in need to set a healthy Internet environment.

As for me, I agree the latter opinion. Not until online games are regulated and behaviors like stealing are restrained can we obtain a clean and healthy cyber world.

There is no consensus of opinions among people as to the view of this special enrolling. With the development of technology, more and more people are making use of the Internet and are enjoying downloading all types of materials. Some are especially fond of downloading free music. They argue that free music downloads not only enrich our life, but also are good for the music industry because they help increase the popularity of music.

However, from my point of view, it is not advisable to allow free music downloads. For one thing, they violate the intellectual property rights of musicians. For another, they have a negative impact on the sales of musical products such as CDs, which may do harm to the whole music industry. Without good returns, who would like to invest in the music industry?

In order that the music industry can develop healthily, we had better ban free music downloads. Let's all start to do so with ourselves.

These incidents happened so frequently mainly because the government failed to inspect efficiently. Some relevant departments’ duties are often overlapping and ambiguous, which makes the monitoring system unresponsive. In addition, the responsibility goes to the food producers especially those who fail to meet safety standards. In order to sell more products, some food producers may even intentionally use various chemicals, such as pesticides, animal drugs etc. during manufacturing and processing just to make food look or taste good without taking people's life into consideration.

In my opinion, to guarantee the food safety, the government should attach great importance to food inspection and improve the supervision mechanism.【监督机制】They should check the food products in the market, and immediately pull those disqualified products off shelves. In this way, Chinese food will conform to the standard and thus become safer and safer.
